Choose the Right Rug
- Living Room
When shooping for rugs for your bedroom, living room and dining room, you need to consider the design, color, size and shape of the rug. The distance between the rug and the wall should be between 12″ and 18″ so that flooring is visible.

TV in the room
You need to position the TV right.
Toilet
Keep in mind that the toilet paper should be 8″-12″ apart from the toilet rim.
Armchairs
A pair of armchairs should sit about 1 foot apart or 2 feet apart with a side table in between.
Frames and Mirrors
When hanging mirrors or artwork in groupings, leave 2″ between frames. 60″ to the base is the optimal height for hanging larger mirors and pictures on the walls.
Chandeliers and Hanging Fixtures
Leave about 66″ from the floor to the bottom of a dinning table fixture.
Coffee Table
Most sofas are 17-20″ high, so the coffee table should be 15-18″ high. Allow around 18″ between the table and the sofa edge.
Dining Table
To allow seats to slide out easily and diners to sit down without twisting an ankle or arm, try to provide at least 36″ between the dining tables and any other wall or furniture around.
Dining Chairs
Chairs should be able to slide under the table easily and diners should not collide with one another. So, place dining chairs 6″ apart.
Headboards
The standard height of the headboard is 48″ from the floor to its top, which leaves about 24″ from the top of the mattress to the top of the headboard design.
Nightstands
Leave 2″ between your bed and nightstand – easy enough to reach for the alarm clock or glass of water.
