The materials tend towards the earthy and natural with timber, tan leather, raw linens and chunky wool creating a comfortable, tactile palette of stay-at-home charm. Here are 5 tips that will make you enjoy the time spent at home.
Wood Elements
Wood can add a bit of warmth, some rustic charm and a touch of elegance to any room. There are ways to combine different types and tones of wood in your interior:
- Choose one large piece of wood furniture, such as wardrobe or cabinet, as a focal point, then surround it with a wood tone that adds just enough contrast.
- Use the same wood tones or ones that complement each other.
- Create contrast by installing light wood floor and furniture with a dark tone.
- Select different types of wood that have the same undertones, such as a light or reddish tone.
The bed
Never underestimate the importance of the beddings. Choose one that will make you wanna stay in your bed forever, and your bed more inviting, cozy and comfortable. Bed toppers are another great layer of warmth between you and the mattress. But we should also not forget to mention the camel or grey cashmere blanket and the flannelette sheets too.
Comfort underfoot
I love the sensation of stepping barefoot onto my sheepskin rugs early in the morning. A beautiful rug will not only warm up your feet, but your whole house.
The Flicker of Fire
There is nothing like a fireplace for creating an ultimate retreat for relaxation. The flicker of a flame can bring that elemental feeling in your space instantly. Arrange the furniture around the fireplace wisely, so you can enjoy and relax.
A Room with a View
The cold weather may not let you out, but you can incorporate large windows and enjoy the beautiful snowy view, while drinking a cup of tea or hot chocolate.
So, what do you think about these decor ideas to warm up your space? Do you find it interesting and fun? Which idea is your favorite and would you like to incorporate in your interior?
