Looking for a way to add more fun into your backyard? Well how about you add some super cool planters, for instance some head planters? Yes, my dear Top Dreamers, theses planters will for sure draw the attention an will give a pretty unique look to your backyard or garden.
Such planters are easy to be made and they won’t cost you much. You will need a Styrofoam wig form as the base, glue and Portland cement. First, cut off the Styrofoam head with a kitchen knife and scoop out the Styrofoam with a spoon to form a cavity. Then, coat the head with wood glue, so that the hypertufa mixture – the Portland cement, would adhere to the Styrofoam. While you wait for the glue to dry, mix the ingredients for hypertufa – 1 part Portland cement, 1½ parts vermiculite, 1½ parts peat moss and water. When you have mixed the ingredients thoroughly, start applying the hypertufa to the Styrofoam. Try defining it by creating some eyes, nose, mouth and ears and built up around the neck to add more stability. Now that you are done with your head planter, place it in plastic bag in a shady location for about a month.
After a month they will be ready for usage. So, take them out from the plastic bag, add some flowers or succulents to create some fun looks and maybe even add up some accessories, such as sunglasses or earrings to make your head planters look more eye-catching.
