Over the years, Lola Tillyaeva has eaccumulated a wealth of knowledge and life experience across an array of different fields including health, wellness, culture, arts, education and environmental issues. Originally from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Lola is a truly global citizen – though she’s never lost sight of her roots as she works tirelessly to strengthen ties between Central Asia and Europe by promoting Uzbek arts and culture abroad. Together with her husband, businessman Timur Tillyaev, the couple to provide better life chances to underpriviledged kids in Uzbekistan through the You Are Not Alone Foundation. Lola Tillyaeva also served as Uzbekistan’s ambassador to UNESCO and launched the celebrated perfume house – The Harmonist.

Busy as a mother of three, Lola holds a master’s degree in International Law from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy in Tashkent and a doctorate in Psychology from Tashkent State University. Lola Tillyaeva is often asked how she manages such a diverse range of responsibilities and interests. Lola Tillyaeva’s  ‘Be Your Own Harmonist’ serves as a guide to those on a journey to finding greater physical and spiritual wellbeing.  In this book, Lola reveals some of the methods she has used throughout her extraordinary life to maintain balance and harmony. As Lola describes, the book is “a merging of science and spirituality” – a union Lola considers crucial to the future of human progress.” At its heart, the book is “an all-encompassing solution for unlocking your intuition and living to your greatest potential.”

As Lola Tillyaeva suggests the work is not solely founded upon her depth of personal experience, but  is also underpinned by decades of research in science and spirituality. Lola Tillyaeva builds a convincing argument that the “delicate interplay between our physical, emotional and mental wellness” are crucial to a better understanding of how to lead a fulfilling life.

The first section of the book explores factors which impact upon the body. Here she considers a diverse range of issues from chronic inflammation to the healing powers of yoga. She also makes a strong point about the importance of regular sleep routines and the central role of healthy eating habits.

In the second section of ‘Be Your Own Harmonist’, Lola explores the question of mental wellbeing by looking at topics such as brain plasticity and life-changing habits such as meditation and breathwork. The last part of the book deals with the latest thinking on heart intelligence and emotional resilience. It also explains the important role that forgiveness plays in emotional health and draws a link between strong emotional wellbeing and care for our environment.

Writing this book, Lola Tillyaeva drew on a diverse array of sources. As mentioned above, her formal qualifications in international law and psychology were of great assistance. But Lola also earned a degree in Herbal Medicine from the California-based Gaia School of Healing & Earth Education. Adding to that, Lola also applied her understanding of the ancient philosophy of Feng Shui and its goal of achieving harmony between the opposing forces yin and yang that is also one of the unsung heroes in the remarkable rise of her perfume house, The Harmonist. Lola Tillyaeva (Till) certainly knows an incredible amount about applying real-world science to everyday life and thereby successfully achieving a life-balance in today’s hectic modern world.
