Packing is at least favorite part of the travels. It is that moment when you try to stuff everything in, the lid won’t close, and you think that you will need more than 5 pairs of shoes. It gets even worse when you are limited to carry-on only. Packing light is the best solution. What are the advantages? You don’t have to draw a heavy suitcase, and you can avoid the additional costs for checked baggage. On the other hand, you can still manage to have the essentials. Experienced travelers would agree that you don’t need so much stuff. Read on and find out How To Pack Light!
Wear one, pack one
We know that shoes can take so much of the precious space left in your bag. And really, you do not need to bring more than two pairs with you. The “wear one, pack one” rule is a number one for packing light for your trip. It states that you should wear only one additional pair, despite of the shoes that you will travel with. This can cut down on the used space. Consider the weather conditions and the occasion. You will want to travel with comfy shoes, and have a spare pair. If you are going for a sightseeing in summer, then wear your favorite pair of sneakers and take a pair of sandals with you. Or, you can take a pair of boots if it is winter.
Pack the must-haves only
When you get back from your trip, you will realize that you should have packed less. So, make sure that you have the must-haves only. Avoid packing things for “just in case”, because in reality you will never need or use these. And for clothes, you can use laundry services so you have fresh and clean ones anytime.
Buy, instead of pack
Sometimes it is cheaper to buy certain products when you arrive on your final destination, rather than having to take them with you. You can buy toiletries, cheap flip flops for your vacation, and even T-shirts. If these are the things that over-stuff your bagged, then you can change to carry on and just buy them from a shop. This is reasonable if the cost for a checked-in bag is a lot higher than the price of the things that you will buy.
