Declutter with these Fall Closet Cleaning Tips

Before you even try to organize everything, take a deep breath and start the decluttering process. Yes, I know that this is the hardest part. But, there is one smart way to do it.

Where to start from?

Divide all of the clothes in three piles:Wear, Donate, and Store. This will make the process of cleaning easier for you. Take your time and sort everything out. The wardrobe basics that you can still wear will go to Wear pile. There are pieces that you can easily incorporate in your fall outfits. For example, T-shirt can be worn in fall too. These are allowed to go back into your closet. Keep the summer-only garments away, such as sandals and too colorful prints. The clothes that you don’t wear but you keep for ” just in case”, and clothes that don’t fit you anymore will all go to the Donate pile. We all have lots of unused clothes, so it is better to donate them to someone that really needs them. And lastly, the clothes that are not fall-approved will go to Store. These should be packed and stored away for the next year.

Organize

When you are done with decluttering, you have a huge pile of clothing ready to be organized. Do not forget to wipe the surface and give it a good cleaning. Bring out your fall wardrobe and organize everything. Place the lighter clothes first, because we really do not skip right into sweaters right away. Long sleeve blouses and cardigans are the choice for the early fall days, so lace them somewhere close where you can grab them.
