The Library Blood-Red Pool in Thailand

The very sight of this pool is enough to send you running, and you’d be wise to do so. The swimming pool looks like it’s stained with blood from the aftermath of a shark attack. But then, its red color is actually intentional, and it has nothing to do with the color of the water.

This pool is located in Koh Samui, which is the second-largest island in Thailand. It has a floor of mosaic tiles of yellow, red, and orange tiles melded together. They create the optical illusion that the water is blood-red. The beauty is even exaggerated when the pool’s lights kick in at night.

Golden Nugget Casino Pool in Las Vegas

If the blood-red pool in Thailand made you think of sharks, then don’t bother swimming here because there are actual sharks in the water. You’ve heard of swimming with dolphins in water theme parks, but only brave people can swim with sharks. Go to the Golden Nugget Casino, and you’ll get the chance.

In this pool, the only thing separating you from the blood-thirsty aquatic predators is a layer of glass. However, before you make up your mind to never visit there, you should know that the glass is pretty thick. Think that you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Now, you can go there and tell everyone you know you’ve gone swimming with sharks.

The Glass-Bottom Sky Pool in Houston

While we’re talking about glass separating you from danger, this is one pool that literally keeps you from going over the edge or the floor, depending on how you look at it. The glass-bottom pool is a part of a luxury apartment complex in Market Square Tower, Houston, Texas, and it has a pool with a spectacular view.

The pool hangs out of the rest of the building, and it has a glass bottom that lets you look at the world below you. Besides the lack of an opaque floor, the fact that you’re floating weightlessly in water can add to the terrifying factor, making you feel like you’re literally falling. You shouldn’t go swimming here if you’re scared of heights.

If you’re wondering how they did it, check out this blog post. Here’s a clue – it’s not really glass.

Conrad Maldives Resort and Spa in Maldives

One of the scariest things that can happen to you is to be lost at sea. You’re floating in a vast body of seawater without a boat or life jacket. You don’t even have a desert island to comfort you. If this is what makes up your nightmares, then DO NOT go swimming in the Conrad Maldives Resort and Spa.

The pool is one of many infinity pools around the world that give the illusion that they continue into the ocean. When you swim in this and similar pools, you’ll actually feel like any tide can take you out to the sea.
