During the cold months fresh herbs are not out of reach, but they do require a little care.
1. Place your herbs on a sunny windowsill
Herbs need 4-6 hours of direct sun every day to thrive in your home.
2. Give the roots proper drainage
During the winter, herbs will drink slightly slower, so that you need to make sure they have proper drainage at the bottom of the containers.
3. Don’t Eat The Largest Leaves
The larger leaves are the most tempting to eat, because we think they are the oldest. They are the plant’s solar panels and if you only prune off a mature leaf your plant will have a hard time growing. So, make sure you mix it up by cutting off new leaves and mature ones.
