The feeling of excitement that comes from renting an RV and hitting the open road is beyond compare. In an RV, you have the freedom to go where you’ve always wanted to go and see what you’ve always wanted to see, all with you behind the wheel. Don’t know what it is you want to do or where you want to go yet? Well, don’t let that stop you from seeing the world.
Some people prefer a more spontaneous route, driving until they find what they want to do or see along the way. After all, there are all kinds of exciting sights that you wouldn’t expect even if you planned it. Others, however, may prefer to have a proper plan before they head off in an RV, and that’s okay too. Whether you prefer spontaneity or planning, we’re here to help you along your way. Here are some ideas for a visit to the Milwaukee area, for example. You’ll soon see there are plenty of reasons to go and plenty to plan to do and see.
Bay Beach Amusement Park
Bay Beach Amusement Park is sure to have something everyone in your RV traveling party will enjoy, no matter their age. After all, isn’t that what an amusement park is all about?
This amusement park is no different. Whether you’re a thrill-seeker or not, there are over 20 various attractions to choose from. This park is perfect if you have small children, as it is geared towards the younger members of your party. If you’re an adult who wants a good adrenaline-pumping roller coaster ride, there is also something for you. Bay Beach Amusement Park really is fun for everyone.
Bringing children with you on a big adventure like traveling in an RV will be great for them. A trip like this gives them the opportunity to see the world from a unique lense and make some fond memories along the way. Not to mention, luxury RVs offer the space and comfort that’ll make the trip all that more enjoyable.
Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary
If you’re in the Bay Beach area, the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary is a must-see. It’s right across the street from the similarly named amusement park, so you won’t have to go far for another fabulous day out. Although you can try to visit both attractions in one day, you’ll surely get more out of the trip by dedicating a day to each. You wouldn’t want to cut one short to see the other and miss out on all it has to offer.
The Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary is a 600-acre spot with over 4,500 animals in its care. Step into the three-story Nature Education Center while you are there to learn about conservation and its importance. The observation and rehabilitation building offers a view of the nursery and a raptor theater. You can also walk through the park on a special walkway to get an up-close and personal look at all the animals in their natural habitats.
Depending on what you are most interested in, you might even choose to spend more than one day at the sanctuary. There are many different programs taking place throughout the year that may pique your interest. Having an RV to come back to allows you to take your pick of how long you stay and how much time you spend at the wildlife sanctuary before moving on to your next destination.
Cave of The Mounds
Renting an RV for a trip to Milwaukee and the surrounding areas means that you can do and see a lot more than someone who drove a car or who flew there. It means you get to see places like the Cave of the Mounds, which is located in the hills of Wisconsin. You can park your RV nearby and then go into the cave to explore the underground for as long as you want. There are special guided tours that will take you past and through the most incredible natural geological formations, the likes of which you probably haven’t seen before. You’ll even get to see real crystals forming in the cave.
It’s cold in the Cave of the Mounds, the temperature hovering around 50 degrees Fahrenheit, so make sure you bring a sweater! Lucky for you, your RV will have plenty of space for clothing to fit all weather conditions.
The Cave is perfect for children and adults alike. You can search for fossils and gems, sifting through the sand and dirt. Apart from that, there are some breathtaking views of the gardens that have been developed there. You will probably see some gorgeous butterflies, too, as there are many that breed there.
Apostle Islands National Lakeshore
At the top of Lake Superior is the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. 21 different islands cover about 69,372 acres. If you want to explore sea caves, hunt, fish, or experience various wildlife habitats, this is the spot for you.
There is a lovely campsite close by, which means you can adventure around the lakeshore and come back to relax and rest in your RV. This site shouldn’t be missed.
