Presentation is Everything

Believe it or not, paper still matters. Whether for business, special events, or that novel you finally finished writing, people like to have something they can hold in their hands.

When given physical, paper materials to examine, readers comprehend more and are more engaged compared to digital materials. When trying to get that sale, pitch that idea, or market yourself, holding their attention is very important. With that in mind, here are some ways to step up your presentation with some tried and true techniques.

Folders

You should consider custom presentation folders to help your clients remember you. Custom pocket folders make any presentation look professional. And look for qualified qualified G7 Masters, who are certified to use only the best materials and highest quality production processes. That way, you can trust your proof with them.

Finishing and binding, and prepress services are commonly offered. But a creative team, typesetting, and proofreading, as well as direct mail and fulfillment services, are also nice to have with any business materials provider. If you’re a nonprofit, always ask if there’s a special discount.

Printing options

There’s a wide selection of printing options for your next presentation or meeting. Offset printing, sheet-fed digital printing, plastic printing, variable data printing, and animated/3D lenticular printing all offer something different and can change the atmosphere of your presentation. If you’re lucky or have money to spare, these are good options.

Folders tend to come in two sizes, legal and letter. This, combined with the complexity of design and your chosen printing process, will affect how many you can afford. The fancier or smaller the meeting, the more you can splurge on them.

Promotional products

Don’t need folders? Or do you run out of pens a lot? Promotional products like pens, labels and stickers, business cards, wall calendars, greeting cards (for holidays or special occasions), and business magnets are all essential promotional materials. Handing out business-specific materials geared toward your audience are a great way to promote yourself.

During or after a presentation where it’s fitting to give away some promotional gifts, popular choices include:

  • Stress balls
  • Notebooks (or Other Stationery)
  • Bags
  • Apparel
  • Cups
  • Lanyards
  • Chapstick
  • Water bottles
  • Key chains
  • Snacks, candy

Design options

Different designs for folders can affect the price. Foil-stamped folders and embossed folders will often be between one and two dollars each on the low end. Soft touch lamination is becoming popular and available, and prices vary. Color folders can be cheap, but adding too many color options will affect pricing.

Premium paper stock, for either the folder or what goes in it, gives you an extra professional look. It may seem superficial, but it adds greatly to perceived value. If a tree must die for your business, make it look good.

And what’s a folder without a logo? You can’t just have any folder because your next presentation isn’t just any presentation. A logo is a must have, because it’s your company birthmark. It can be on flyers, brochures, and of course, the folder where all of these other things are kept.

Finishing options

Glossy, matte, satin, and spot varnishing finishes are typical finishing options. And don’t forget the stitching, either. Folding and saddle stitch binding are the most basic choices, but for booklets, you’ll have to upgrade. Otherwise it becomes an awkward stack of pages. It’s never a bad idea to ask your printer what they think will best hold everything together. You don’t have to sacrifice function for aesthetics, but sometimes it costs more for an option which truly has both.
