She Tapes Up Her Living Room Wall And The Final Look Will For Sure Amaze You

If you don’t like the plain look of your living room wall, then maybe it is time to make it an accent one. For instance, you can make this wall a brick one but without adding any real bricks. And now you are probably thinking of how this can be possible. Well, it is and today you will find about one such DIY project that can hep you make one such wall.

The materials needed for this project are:

  • gray paint
  • painter’s tape
  • level
  • pencil
  • premix drywall compound
  • seas sponge
  • paint brushes
  • small amount of pain in red, black, cream, white, orange and aqua

The first step is to paint the wall with a grey paint. Then with the use of a level, pencil and several rolls of painter’s tape you start creating the brick design. They should measure 4 inches x 8 inches.

When you have finished taping, apply pre-mixed drywall compound to the wall with spreaders. Once it is completely dry it is time to remove the tape. After that dampen a sea sponge and stipple more drywall compound on the wall especially onto many of the grout lines. Start painting the bricks with the versatile shades of red, black, orange, white etc., to create a real brick look.

Then it’s time for more sponging. Use the sea sponge again dipped into the paint colors to add more texture. And in the end, use a small brush dipped in white paint to add some very fine straight lines to the brick edges.

And here is the final result. Faux but looking like a real brick wall!
