Sometimes it’s hard to be the trendsetter, but if you get onto a trend quick enough, you can at least be an early adopter and say that you were one of the originals! This applies for hairstyles too, of course; you can be sure that there is a fresh and fantastic hairstyle out there for you. If you think that you’re becoming bored with your current hair, or simply wish to bring in the new year with a bang, we believe these are some hairstyles that will be huge in 2018. Get on them ASAP!

MESSY WAVES

You know that look you have when you come back from the beach? Well, what if you had that all the time? We’re already starting to see some messy waves on runway models now, but it’s widely acknowledged from those in the industry that messy waves won’t just be a summer thing, but all throughout winter too. Sometimes called ‘flat waves,’ with a dash of shine spray and straighteners to add a nice bend to your hair, you’ll get this look easily.

LOW PONIES

We generally tie ponytails higher up, but we’re starting to see more and more low ponies nowadays. The trend hasn’t exploded yet, but by next year, you’re bound to see a lot more girls wearing their hair in a low ponytail. The beauty of a hair trend like this is that it’s painfully simple, but works well enough to be different from the norm. Start wearing your ponytail lower now and you’ll definitely be one of the exemplars.

PURE WHITE

We’ve already seen Emilia Clarke’s character on Game of Thrones wow us with her stunning pure white hair, but don’t forget that Kristen Stewart, Cara Delevingne and Katy Perry are certainly no strangers to ice blonde hair, either. A lot of care should be taken when dyeing your hair, however, as it’s easy to mess up if you do it on your own! It’s best to read a how-to guide by Schwarzkopf if you want the blonde hair dye trend in 2018.

MINI BUNS

These sound like something delicious to eat, but they are actually gorgeous to look at! Two parallel buns at the top of your head are gaining a lot of traction across fashion shows, and it’s not hard to see why. The look is innocent and cool, but with just enough ‘rock chick’ chic that we could picture the likes of Lorde or Pink with this amazing style.

SLICKED BACK WET LOOK

This is a gorgeous style we’re not just seeing on the runways, but on the red carpet too. Mollie King, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Kate Hudson are among those with the look. It’s glossy and eye-catching, with just enough pizazz to make it celebrity-worthy. We recommend choosing one of these styles if it’s a work day, because we firmly believe this is a hairstyle that demands attention when you go out for a night on the town. The best part of it all is that this hairstyle is incredibly easy to pull off.

HEADBANDS

Normally something that is associated with one who is having a bad hair day, the headband is rapidly becoming a sought-after fashion item for your hair. Some go for crystal-encrusted statement pieces, whilst others go for something leather and casual, but whatever you choose, it’s going to enhance your look and bring about a new change in you.

PIXIE CUT

The name says it all really, an incredibly cute hairstyle that has gained a few fans over the years, but one that will likely take off next year. The pixie cut’s popularity has been largely helped by mega celebrities like Tyra Banks, Halle Berry and Keira Knightley, but there’s still a lot more room for big names to get on the trend. You’ll have to remove a lot of your hair, this is true, but it can be liberating and exciting to go short if you’ve had long hair for an extended amount of time.
